Celebrate Babar’s Museum of Art

Pick Up Your “Passport” and Enjoy the Journey!

TYLER, TX (May 26, 2010) – The Babar Passports are here! In celebration of its summer exhibition, Babar’s Museum of Art, the Tyler Museum of Art created a free Babar program or “Passport” for young visitors to the exhibition and related events and activities. You may pick up your own copy of the twenty-page Passport at the TMA and other community organizations who are hosting Babar events now!

Designed to look similar to a United States passport, the Babar “Passport” lists information about the summer of Babar, including a calendar of events, community partner organization information, and event descriptions. Participants are encouraged to use their “Passport” as a guide and will be able to receive stickers at all participating venues. Fill your “Passport”, and you can enter to win a grand prize drawing at the close of the exhibition.

Here's how it works:

1) Pick up your “Passport” at the TMA or any of the partnering organizations.
2) Read to discover Babar events and activities.
3) Attend the events you like, and ask to receive your sticker when you go.
4) Fill out your entry form and return to the TMA to be entered to win a prize at the end of the exhibition.
5) Keep your “passport” as a souvenir and remember all the fun you had with Babar!

Participants may enter to win one of two separate drawings. Those who get four or more stickers on their “Passports” from the TMA and partner organizations may enter a drawing to win a prize at the close of the exhibition. Participants who also get a sticker from Travel Leaders in Tyler (for a total of at least five stickers) are eligible to enter to win the grand prize, a three-night stay for two adults and two children at Dreams Cancun Resort & Spa, an all-inclusive resort located in Punta Cancun, Mexico. The grand prize is sponsored by Travel Leaders – Tyler. Complete information may be found in the “Passport” and at www.tylermuseum.org.

“Passports” may be picked up at the following locations: All Saints Episcopal School; Bernard Restaurant; The Caldwell Zoo; Discovery Science Place; The Lindale Library; Cameron – J. Jarvis Troup Municipal Library; Travel Leaders in Tyler; Tyler Civic Theatre; Tyler Public Library; and the Tyler Museum of Art.
