Opportunities For Giving

The Tyler Museum of Art Development Office always is available to discuss a gift to the Museum. Below are some examples of how you can support the Museum in its ongoing mission of bringing exciting art to the people of East Texas. If you would like further information, please call us at 903-595-1001 for questions.

Below you will find several giving options briefly described:

Exhibitions/Special Events
Each exhibit and special event at the Museum is an opportunity for sponsorship. You may choose to be a sole sponsor of an exhibit or simply make a donation toward the overall expenses. Sponsors also are needed for special events such as La Table des Artistes and Little Black Dress held in the Fall. Your gift will be noted in publicity materials and at the opening/event.

Major Gifts
You can make a major gift to TMA in a variety of ways. Gifts of cash, stock, real estate, oil and gas interests, and bonds are all options. In addition to providing the Museum with the boost a sizeable gift can give, your contribution can also provide you with valuable income tax savings. Under certain circumstances, the Museum may not be able to accept every gift. Before making any final decisions, please take a few moments to sit with the Development staff and Director to determine what will be in both yours and the Museum's best interests.

Planned Giving
Many donors these days are choosing to include the institutions they value in their estate planning as a means of providing a legacy for future generations. Remembering the Museum in your estate will ensure that the support you provide today will continue for years to come. The Development staff can meet with you and your estate planner to map out a plan for the future.

Annual Giving
Your yearly gift allows us to schedule world-class exhibitions and supports a well-staffed museum dedicated to giving you a memorable experience each time you visit.

Remembrance Gifts
This is a special and unique way to remember a family member or loved one on a special occasion such as a birthday or anniversary. Such gifts are always acknowledged with a Card of Thanks from the Museum staff.

Memorial Gifts
As a way of honoring a deceased loved one, please consider a gift to the Museum that they loved and supported during their lifetime. The Museum will acknowledge your thoughtfulness with a personalized letter of thanks.

A museum measures its true value through its permanent collection. The Museum is available to discuss acquisitions with you—whether it be the donation of a piece you already own or providing funds for future acquisitions. Please understand the Museum must stay within its collection development plan and not all gifts may be accepted. The Museum Director or Curator will be happy to assist you in making a gift in this area.
