Overview:
This juried exhibition will showcase a range of printmaking methods through work created by Texas college and university students. Organized and juried by the Tyler Museum of Art, selected pieces will be on display at Gallery Main Street in downtown Tyler, Texas from May 1 to June 9, 2026. The museum will host an opening reception, announcing an award for Best in Show.

Eligibility:

  • Works must be created using printmaking techniques such as etching, lithography, relief, screen printing, monotype, woodcut, linocut, or experimental methods. Only original print work will be accepted. No digital reproductions or giclée prints.
  • Artists must be a current Texas-based college or university student, submitting work that has been created during the last two years.
  • All artwork must be framed in a professional manner and ready to hang. This means that the frame must have appropriately sized d-rings placed at least 2 inches down from the frame’s top edge. No sawtooth hangers.
  • The total framed size of the work must not exceed 30x36 inches.
  • Artists must be able to hand deliver and pick up their work within the given time frames. There will be no shipping of artwork.

Submissions can be sent to ehelms@tylermuseum.org with the subject line “2026 Juried Print Exhibition”

There is no submission fee. Please include all required information in one document. Artwork images should be attached separately as jpegs and saved as the title of the work. Images should be of high quality (images taken with a phone will work) with nothing in the background - only the art/art in its frame should be visible.

Submissions should include:

  • Up to two images. It may be two images of the same work (framed/unframed) or two different works.
  • Full name as you would like it to be presented.
  • Name of the college or university you are attending, along with your grade level and major.
  • Artwork information: title, year created, size (final framed size), and medium.
  • Artist statement: a 150 to 200 word description of why you created the work and what printmaking processes were used.

Timeline:
April 5: Application deadline

April 6-10: Jury process
April 13: Notification to artists
April 21-26: Artwork delivery to the Tyler Museum of Art
May 2 / 5:30-7:00 p.m.: Opening reception at Gallery Main Street
June 11-17: Pickup of artwork from the Tyler Museum of Art
