Bold Lines: Works by Joseph Glaco
November 24, 2019 – February 16, 2020
Organized by the TMA and curated by Caleb Bell, Bold Lines surveys the vast body of work by Glasco (1925-1996), an artist born in Oklahoma but raised in Tyler. His artistic eye developed early as he grew up in East Texas, moving on to study art at the University of Texas at Austin before being drafted for military service in World War II.
That Day: Pictures in the American West by Laura Wilson
December 15, 2019 – March 15, 2020
This exhibition highlights Laura Wilson’s fascination with the diversity found among the people and places of Texas and beyond. Capturing the grittiness of the American West, the subjects range from generational ranchers to high school football players. Executed in her signature black-and-white photography, Wilson captures the beauty as well as the harshness of the region.
