Public Programming & Exhibitions Coordinator
Reports to: Executive Director

JOB SUMMARY
The Public Programming & Exhibitions Coordinator is responsible for the development and implementation of exhibition-related public programs. The Public Programming & Exhibitions Coordinator works closely with the Executive Director and Registrar & Collections Manager on all exhibition-related logistics including the transportation of works of art and installation of temporary exhibitions. The Public Programming & Exhibitions Coordinator also assists with the marketing of related activities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Assist with gallery installations
• Assist the Executive Director with the organization of artwork for exhibition
• Communicate with external entities regarding works for exhibition
• Travel with the Registrar/Collections Manager to pick up artwork (occasional overnight travel involved)
• Arrange for pickup/delivery of exhibition artwork
• Assist with marketing of exhibitions and programs
• Assist with the development of interpretive materials
• Pack/unpack works of art
• Assist with condition reports and other exhibition-related paperwork
• Work with artists and other professionals on public programs
• Prepare departmental budget and be responsible for managing once approved
• Maintain confidentiality
• Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Executive Director
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Undergraduate degree required
• Strong written and verbal skills
• Detail oriented and highly organized
• Demonstrated ability to work on a team
• Graphic design knowledge preferred
• Art handling and installation knowledge preferred
• Knowledge of collection management, exhibition development and current museum practices preferred
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Valid driver’s license
